Local 6

Again, a traffic caused fatality occurred. This horrible tragedy happened when a six year-old boy dropped his library books in the street. When he picked them up he ran to catch up with his sister. In the process he was hit by a car and killed. The driver stopped and called an ambulance. He tried to help the boy, but the boy died before getting to the hospital. This is a situation that I would hate to be the driver of the car. He probably didn't see or expect the boy to be out in the street. Now he has to live the horrific knowledge that he hit and killed someone with his car. This event really brings up the fact that traffic safety isn't just something parents need to inform their kids about, but that they should teach their kids to go thought the steps of looking both ways and being aware of cars when they go into the street. It is unfortunate that these things have to happen and mistakes have to be made for society to learn and change.

Was it a designated crossing area if so the driver shoud have slowed down enough to check both ways as well as the kid so i feel that they are both to blame
